As rapid population growth outpaces existing water infrastructure on the southside of Belize City, state-owned utility provider Belize Water Services (BWS) is moving forward with a $4.5 million infrastructure upgrade to reinforce emergency water storage and prevent prolonged service outages for local residents. Scheduled for full completion by March 15, 2027, the project is already more than 50% finished, marking a key milestone in improving long-term water resilience for the fast-growing district.
