Dominica netball team set for 10th anniversary Battle of the Isles

The Dominica Netball Association has formally announced its selected national squad that will represent the small Caribbean island at the 2026 Battle of the Isles (BOTI) netball tournament, a landmark 10th-anniversary edition of the regional competition set to kick off in St. Maarten this October.

Running from October 28 through November 1, 2026, this year’s tournament will gather netball squads from across the Caribbean and wider island region for five days of athletic competition, community building, and celebration of the sport that has connected neighboring islands for a decade. Marking a full decade of regional collaboration through netball, the 2026 iteration has adopted the official theme “Where Islands Compete, Unity Shines, Legacy Lives,” paired with the unifying slogan “One Game, Many Islands, One Passion, Stronger Together.”

Beyond the on-court action, tournament organizers have structured this year’s event to honor the decades-long legacy of the Battle of the Isles while setting the foundation for its future growth as a cornerstone of regional sporting exchange. For the selected Dominica players, the tournament represents more than just a chance to compete against top regional talent; it is an opportunity to showcase their skills on a prominent regional stage and carry the pride of their home island to an international audience.

As teams across the region finalize their preparations for the October tip-off, the 10th anniversary Battle of the Isles is positioned to reinforce its long-standing reputation as a event that blends high-stakes competitive netball with a powerful celebration of shared regional identity and sporting camaraderie. For fans, athletes, and organizers alike, this year’s gathering in St. Maarten will be a milestone moment that honors the past while energizing the next chapter of island competition through netball.
