Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a key leadership appointment that strengthens its governing body with deep regional cricket experience: Felix Auguiste, long-serving Vice President of the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association (ABCUA), has been promoted to the CWI Senior Panel.
Auguiste’s ascension to this senior governance role comes after years of dedicated service to Caribbean cricket at both the local and regional levels. As Vice President of ABCUA, he has overseen grassroots development programs, led facility upgrade initiatives, and advocated for greater resource allocation to emerging cricketing talent in the Leeward Islands. His proven track record of collaborative leadership and commitment to growing the sport across the Caribbean makes him a natural fit for the CWI Senior Panel, which is tasked with overseeing regulatory matters, disciplinary processes, and strategic governance for cricket across the West Indies region.
In a statement following the announcement, CWI officials highlighted that Auguiste’s intimate knowledge of domestic cricket structures across the region will bring invaluable perspective to the Senior Panel’s work. At a time when West Indies cricket is working to rebuild its international standing and invest in youth development, the addition of a leader with Auguiste’s on-the-ground experience is expected to help bridge gaps between national member associations and the central CWI governance body.
Auguiste himself has expressed enthusiasm for the new role, noting that he looks forward to contributing to initiatives that support sustainable growth of cricket at all levels, from local community clubs to the national international side. His appointment is part of a broader push by CWI to diversify its leadership ranks and incorporate voices from across the Caribbean’s cricket community into key decision-making processes.
