On Tuesday, Suriname’s National Assembly passed a landmark amendment to the 2019 law establishing the country’s Center for Innovation and Productivity (CIP), securing unanimous 35 votes in favor of the regulatory overhaul. The reform package aims to resolve long-standing structural bottlenecks that have prevented the institution from reaching full operational capacity since its founding, equipping it to drive national productivity gains and foster innovation across Suriname’s economy.
