The Caribbean island nation of Dominica has long positioned itself as a top-tier eco-tourism destination, drawing visitors from across the globe with its lush rainforests, pristine coastlines, and warm local hospitality. To honor the backbone of this critical economic sector, the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) is gearing up to host the 2026 Tourism Service Excellence Awards, a special ceremony scheduled to take place on November 29.
This annual event, which this year will be held at the luxury InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, is designed to shine a spotlight on the exceptional contributions of individuals who have gone above and beyond to strengthen Dominica’s tourism industry. The awards celebrate the commitment, creative thinking, and unwavering dedication to high service standards that have been instrumental in driving the sector’s ongoing growth and development.
The upcoming gathering will bring together a diverse cross-section of the island’s tourism ecosystem, including senior government tourism officials, leading industry executives, local business owners, and other key stakeholders. For one evening, the entire community will come together to acknowledge excellence across every corner of the tourism space, from tour guides and hotel staff to hospitality managers and local artisans that engage directly with visitors.
In a statement announcing the event, DDA officials emphasized that the awards serve as more than just a celebration—they are a chance to formally recognize the professionals whose daily work elevates the visitor experience and reinforces Dominica’s reputation as a must-visit travel destination. By highlighting these individuals’ accomplishments, the authority hopes to encourage continued commitment to service excellence across the entire industry, raising the bar for standards that keep visitors returning year after year.
As preparations for the November ceremony continue, DDA has confirmed that additional details, including nominee announcements, ticketing information, and award categories, will be released to the public in the coming weeks.
