Volledige lading 385 ton illegaal ingevoerde rijst onder politiebewaking bij FAI

In a regulatory enforcement action unfolding at the Port of Nickerie, Suriname, authorities have completed the offloading of 385,000 kilograms (385 tons) of undeclared parboiled rice imported by local trader Bhagwatpersad Ramadhin, moving the entire shipment to a secured storage facility operated by the state-owned Food and Agriculture Industries (FAI). Initial unloading of a portion of the cargo began last Friday, with the remaining stock retrieved from the vessel on Monday, and the entire consignment is now under constant police guard to prevent unauthorized distribution.
