DAIC appoints Tahera Musgrave-Robinson as president

The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC), the island nation’s leading private sector trade organization, has announced a significant leadership transition, per its official constitutional guidelines. Following the departure of multiple senior leaders, the DAIC Board of Directors has named Tahera Musgrave-Robinson to serve as interim President, a role she will hold until the organization makes a permanent leadership decision.

In an official statement announcing the leadership change, the DAIC Board made clear it has full confidence in Musgrave-Robinson’s capabilities. Board members highlighted her longstanding commitment to advancing the interests of DAIC’s member network and the broader Dominican private sector, noting that the organization is eager to collaborate with her to expand and improve the support and services DAIC delivers to local business communities across the country.

The transition follows the formal acceptance of resignations from three key DAIC officials. Eddie Nicholas Bruno, one of the organization’s sitting directors, stepped down from his post effective October 2, 2026. Fellow sitting director Yvor Nassief submitted his resignation that took effect two days later, on October 4, 2026. The most high-profile departure was that of former President Olive Strachan, whose resignation went into effect on October 7, 2026.

DAIC moved quickly to recognize the value of the outgoing leaders’ work during their tenure. The organization issued public gratitude for the numerous contributions each departing official made during their time of service to the association and its membership.

To reassure its members and outside stakeholders amid the leadership shakeup, DAIC issued a formal assurance that all ongoing organizational programs, member-facing services, and core Secretariat operations will continue to run normally with no interruptions to service delivery.
