Kalinago Blasters and KFC Summits secure convincing wins in DCA Intermediate League

The 2026 Maxroy Trading Limited Dominica Cricket Association (DCA) Intermediate League entered its fourth and final matchday on October 12, and fans were treated to a full slate of high-stakes action marked by standout individual performances and dramatic team victories across all five fixtures.

In the opening fixture of the round, KFC Summits Sports Club claimed a convincing 67-run win against Starlites. Batting first, Summits posted a formidable total of 258 runs for the loss of eight wickets, anchored by a brilliant century from Nashon Bellot who finished unbeaten on 104. In response, Starlites could only manage 191 runs for five wickets, falling well short of the required target.

Gallion Hurricanes pulled off a tight low-scoring victory over Grand Bay Credit Union Colts, winning by 30 runs after putting on just 99 runs batting first. The Hurricanes bowlers delivered when it mattered most, dismissing Colts for only 70 runs to secure the win in a tense finish.

Nagico Northern Stars pulled off a six-wicket comeback against Police Sports Club, chasing down a target of 120 runs after Police were all out for 119. Northern Stars reached the winning total of 121 runs for the loss of four wickets in 19.3 overs, sealing a comfortable late-order victory.

One fixture concluded in a default win for Emerald Stars, who took the full points after Rueben Bakery Christians were unable to field a competitive side for the match.

The most dominant performance of Matchday 4 came from defending champions Kalinago Blasters, who defeated Gladiators by a massive 157-run margin. Batting first in their 30-over allocation, Kalinago Blasters posted 254 runs for eight wickets, led by a career-best 138 from Dionnie Rolle, with valuable middle-order support from Joel Durand who chipped in with 41 runs. Gladiators had no answer to Kalinago Blasters’ bowling attack, collapsing to 97 all out. Bowler Ryel Paris turned in a match-winning performance, taking six wickets while conceding only 14 runs to blow apart the Gladiators batting lineup.

With Matchday 4 now in the books, the 2026 DCA Intermediate League title race grows increasingly tense, as competing teams continue their push for the top spot in the standings and a shot at the league championship.
