Organizers and attendees of the upcoming New National Party rally in Grenada now have clear guidance on travel and parking logistics, after the Traffic Department of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) released a full set of traffic management arrangements for the event. The political rally is scheduled to take place Sunday, 11 October 2026 at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium, and the new traffic rules will go into effect at 5 p.m. that day, remaining in place until the event wraps up completely.
To streamline access to the venue for all attendees and vehicles, RGPF has mapped out a single designated entry route for all vehicular traffic heading to the National Stadium. All cars and trucks must approach via the Queen’s Park public road, entering from the intersection connecting Queen’s Park to Stadium Ring Road and the Hump Back Bridge, where the road meets River Road Public Road.
Several local roads will be closed to non-emergency vehicle traffic for the duration of the rally. The restricted entry zones include: Stadium Ring Road from its junction with Mt Rush public road heading toward Humpback Bridge; Cemetery Hill starting from its intersection with Church Street; and Old Fort public road from its junction with Lucas Street. No personal or non-authorized vehicles will be permitted to enter these sections while the traffic order is in effect.
Parking arrangements have been split into designated zones for different groups attending the rally, to avoid congestion and ensure orderly access. For party candidates, a dedicated parking space has been allocated on the grass patch immediately behind the main stage. Members of the party’s executive committee will use the warm-up track area for parking. General attendees have three primary approved parking zones: the area directly in front of the Kirani James Athletic Stadium, Gate 6 (which is reserved for police officers and charter buses), and the grounds of Wesley College. If these primary zones reach full capacity, overflow parking will be permitted on the left side of Stadium Ring Road heading in the direction of Cherry Hill.
Just as with entry restrictions, certain roads are completely off-limits for parking throughout the event. Prohibited parking areas include: Queens Park Public road from its intersection with Keep Left through to Cherry Hill; the left side of Stadium Ring Road heading toward D’arbeau; Mt Rush public road from its junction with Stadium Ring Road up to the top of the hill; and River Road public road from Keep Left to the L A Purcell lumber yard. Unauthorized parking in these zones will be enforced per local traffic regulations.
To ensure emergency services can respond quickly if needed, RGPF has also established a dedicated clear access route for all emergency vehicles. Emergency responders will be authorized to travel along Cemetery Hill, Old Fort Road, Lucas Street, and Church Street, connecting through to Grand Etang Road, keeping this corridor clear of non-emergency traffic at all times during the event.
In addition to traffic and parking rules, RGPF also announced a restriction on unlicensed vending for the event. No commercial vending will be permitted along Stadium Ring Road in the immediate vicinity of the venue’s main entrance, to prevent overcrowding and access blockages. This official announcement was issued directly from the Office of the Commissioner of Police in Grenada.
