A prominent Caribbean food manufacturer has launched a targeted voluntary recall of two specific batches of its 1-liter Grace Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch, distributed across seven regional markets, over a documented product quality deviation. GraceKennedy Foods (GK Foods), the company behind the recall, has emphasized that the issue does not pose any immediate risk to consumer health, and no reports of illness or adverse reactions linked to the affected product have been recorded to date.
The recall is restricted exclusively to bottles of the 1L Fruit Punch that carry one of two best-before date codes printed on the top of their packaging: BB JUL 21 27 L6 and BB JUL 22 27 L6. No other batch sizes, product variants from the Grace Tropical Rhythms line, or batches sold outside the seven affected jurisdictions are included in this action. The impacted markets are Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and St Maarten.
In a formal statement announcing the recall, GK Foods Chief Executive Officer Andrea Coy explained that the move is being undertaken as a proactive precautionary measure, rooted in the company’s commitment to upholding its long-standing quality standards and maintaining consumer trust. “The quality of our products and the trust consumers place in Grace are extremely important to us,” Coy noted. “While this is primarily a quality issue, we are voluntarily recalling the affected batches as a precaution and to ensure that the products available to our consumers continue to meet the standards they expect from Grace.”
Coy added that the company’s cross-regional operations team has already begun coordinating closely with authorized distributors and retail partners across all affected markets to pull the identified batches from store shelves as quickly as possible. The CEO also issued a formal apology to consumers and trade partners for any disruption the recall may cause.
The company has issued clear guidance for customers who may have purchased the affected product: consumers in possession of 1L Grace Tropical Rhythms Fruit Punch matching the recalled best-before codes are advised not to consume the product, and can return it to their original point of purchase to receive a full refund or a replacement product at no additional cost.
