The highly anticipated eighth season of KTV The Remix is set to kick off its premiere night this Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the iconic Bliss Institute in Belize City, bringing a fresh, original-focused twist to Belize’s local entertainment scene.
In a press preview ahead of the opening night, show producer Viannie Reyes shared that the premiere will feature a standout shift toward original creative work from the 12 competing performers. According to Reyes, organizers received overwhelming requests from contestants to showcase self-written material on the first night of the competition. As a result, she estimates that between 60% and 80% of tonight’s performers will take the stage with songs they wrote themselves, marking a significant celebration of local musical creativity.
For fans planning to attend the live event, doors to the venue are scheduled to open at 7:30 p.m., with the performance kicking off promptly at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at just $5 per person, and attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase passes in advance to avoid long entry lines. Advance tickets can be secured at two convenient locations: the Greater Belize Media office on Coney Drive, and 88 Shopping Centre. For those who decide to attend last-minute, tickets will also be available for purchase at the venue door starting at 7:00 p.m.
Ahead of the premiere, organizers have also launched public voting for contestants, which opens as soon as the show begins tonight. Each of the 12 performers has been assigned a unique number between 1 and 12 for public voting. Only SMART network users are eligible to vote, and can do so by texting their favorite contestant’s number to the shortcode 585. Beyond general voting, each contestant also has an individual dedicated SMART contact number for fans who wish to sponsor a competitor directly.
Reyes emphasized that audience support and sponsorship are critical to advancing contestants through the season, urging fans to make their voices heard. “There are a lot of people who are looking forward to the support for these contestants. They’re all pretty talented and they’re looking for great sponsorship,” Reyes noted, adding that voting is the key to ensuring fans’ favorite competitor makes it to the season’s final stage.
For those unable to make it to the Bliss Institute for the live premiere, the production team has arranged free remote viewing options. The entire show will be streamed live starting at 8:00 p.m. across Greater Belize Media’s digital platforms, including its official YouTube channel, Facebook page, and primary website, allowing local and international fans to follow the competition from anywhere.
