After five weeks of anxious waiting, searching, and widespread public hope, missing Belize police constable Kenyon Barrow has been located alive in Orange Walk, bringing long-awaited relief to his family, colleagues, and the broader community.
Barrow was first reported missing on September 18, 2026, after he disappeared under unclear circumstances. In the weeks that followed, the Belize Police Department launched an extensive search effort, supported by public prayers and well wishes from across the country. The breakthrough came when investigators analyzed surveillance footage that placed Barrow at a location he was known to visit regularly before his disappearance. Acting on this lead, police dispatched officers to the area and located Barrow at approximately 10:30 a.m. on October 22, 2026.
In an official statement released Wednesday, Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith, Staff Officer for the department, confirmed the discovery and outlined the next steps for the investigation. “While PC Barrow appears to be in relatively good physical condition, he is receiving medical treatment as a precaution,” Smith said, emphasizing that Barrow’s health and recovery are currently the department’s top priority.
The successful location of Barrow has brought an end to the weeks-long uncertainty for his family, particularly his mother, who has waited anxiously for any update on her son’s status. Smith noted that now that Barrow is in police custody, his loved ones and the department can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
“The Belize Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to all those persons who assisted in the extensive searches that were being conducted to locate PC Barrow, as well as those persons who offered prayers and well wishes,” Smith added.
Despite the relief of finding Barrow alive, key questions surrounding his disappearance remain unanswered. Authorities have not yet established the full circumstances of why Barrow vanished, or where he spent the five weeks he was missing. The case remains open and active, with investigators continuing their inquiry to uncover these details. For the time being, however, all focus remains on supporting Barrow through his recovery.
