Alberto August: “Pastor Kevin Might Have Stumbled and Fallen Short of the Glory of God…”

In a developing public controversy that has sent ripples through faith and political circles in Belize, at least four men have come forward with serious sexual crime allegations against Pastor Kevin Tzib, the well-known founder of Dunamis Ministries. The accusations first gained public attention after former United Democratic Party chairman Alberto August shared a public statement about the case on his official Facebook page on October 22, 2026.

August, a long-time public figure, opened his post with unexpected public praise for the accused pastor, acknowledging Tzib’s reputation as a compelling spiritual leader. “Pastor Kevin Tzib is a dynamic spiritual leader and prayer master,” August wrote in the post. “I have always been impressed by his delivery of the word and his impact on listeners.”

Moving to address the unfolding allegations, August framed the claims through a lens of universal human fallibility, arguing that even respected faith leaders are not immune to mistake. “Like all of us, Pastor Kevin might have stumbled and fallen short of the glory of God, but let him who is without sin cast the first stone,” he added.

August concluded his statement by noting that all parties involved in the case remain in his thoughts and prayers, including the accused pastor, the accusers, the entire Dunamis Ministries congregation, and the ministry’s leadership team.

One of the accusers, who agreed to speak on condition of partial anonymity to local outlet News 5, described Tzib as a figure he once deeply admired before the alleged abuse occurred. According to the accuser’s account, the pastor made repeated unwanted sexual advances toward him. He confirmed that he and the other three accusers have already formally filed reports with local law enforcement to launch an official investigation.

In a formal public response released shortly after the accusations became public, leadership at Dunamis Ministries said it would not rush to judgment ahead of a formal investigation. The organization’s statement acknowledged the profound severity of the claims leveled against its founder, noting that it “does not intend to prejudge the matter” and that it “recognises the seriousness of the allegations.” The ministry closed its statement by calling for public respect for the privacy and inherent dignity of every person connected to the case, on both sides of the accusation.
