UPP Women’s Forum mourns passing of E. Louise Henry

The women’s wing of Antigua and Barbuda’s main opposition political group, the United Progressive Party (UPP), has moved to honor the legacy of long-time party member E. Louise Henry, following her recent passing. In a public memorial message released by the UPP Women’s Forum, the organization opened by sharing its deep sorrow over the loss of Henry, while celebrating the indelible mark she left on colleagues, loved ones, and the broader party community.

Throughout the tribute, organizers highlighted the core personal traits that defined Henry’s decades of involvement with the UPP. The memorial specifically called out her well-known kindness, quiet yet unshakable strength, thoughtful approach to community organizing, bold willingness to stand for party values, and unwavering loyalty to the organization’s mission. The forum emphasized that these qualities will not be forgotten by anyone who had the chance to work alongside her.

Accompanying the written tribute were several candid and formal photographs of Henry, in which she is seen wearing the UPP’s iconic yellow and blue branded apparel, a visual reminder of her deep and long-standing connection to the party and its work. In closing, the organization extended its final farewell to Henry, offering a note of peace for her passing. “May your soul rest in peace,” the tribute read. “We will miss you dearly, forever in our hearts.”
