Liberta’s St. Paul’s Empowerment Centre is set to host a key public evening panel discussion on October 12, a centerpiece event of the upcoming St. Paul’s Health Month 2026. Leading the conversation will be prominent health expert Dr. Jerry Simon, joined by a roster of local health practitioners and a visiting guest physician, according to an official public statement issued by E.P. Chet Greene.
Titled “The Health Conversation We Keep Avoiding,” the event is designed to open up dialogue around underdiscussed health topics that many community members often hesitate to address. For residents unable to attend in person, the entire panel discussion will be aired live via local broadcaster WTP Live, expanding access to the critical health information shared during the event.
The panel comes on the heels of a successful community event held earlier as part of the health month initiative: the St. Paul’s Health Walk. That activity saw participants trek from the St. Paul’s Empowerment Centre in Liberta all the way to Shirley Heights, drawing dozens of local residents committed to prioritizing physical wellness. Greene extended his gratitude to all walk participants, noting that their enthusiasm, collective backing, and dedication to improving personal and community health set a strong foundation for the rest of the month’s programming.
In his call to action for the upcoming panel, Greene emphasized the importance of proactive community engagement around health. “Let’s talk openly. Let’s ask the questions. Let’s get informed. Most importantly, let’s take charge of your health!” he shared in the official announcement. While core details of the event have been released to the public, organizers have not yet shared an exact start time for the October 12 discussion, with further updates expected to be shared in the coming weeks.
