Since its launch, the initiative has operated entirely through personal funding from Lewis and voluntary contributions from local and external donors, whose consistent support has turned a small community project into a cherished annual tradition.
This milestone year brings with it new constraints, however. Due to limited available resources, organizers have adjusted distribution protocols for 2026, reducing the total volume of supplies and prioritizing distribution strictly to students from low-income and needful backgrounds, with the goal of extending support to as many qualifying learners as possible within the current budget.
