Giraud draws from a rich tapestry of personal and cultural influences to shape the album’s vivid, playful identity. Caribbean cultural heritage, the iconic glitz of performer Carmen Miranda, and the bright, whimsical aesthetic of mid-century Hollywood musicals from the 1940s and 1950s all leave their mark on the project. The 12-track project features a stacked lineup of high-profile collaborations that highlight its cross-genre vision. Grammy Award-winning guitarist Vernon Reid joins Giraud on the retro-soul cut “Honey Honey Baby”, while leading opera soprano Sondra Radvanovsky lends her voice to a jazz-infused reimagining of Offenbach’s classic “Barcarolle”. Vocalist Lisa Marie Simmons appears on the uplifting track “BLU X”, which centers on themes of personal resilience and life transformation. The album also includes “It Had To Be You”, an upbeat original composition that pulses with the rhythmic energy of Brazilian Carnival.
