The inferno was first spotted in the early hours of Wednesday, at roughly 3:00 a.m., through the Ministry’s cutting-edge satellite monitoring network. This system is designed to provide 24/7 constant surveillance of the nation’s protected wild areas, enabling early detection of fire risks before they escalate into unmanageable disasters. As soon as the blaze was flagged, emergency response protocols were immediately put into action, with senior environment officials launching coordination efforts with the Ministry of Defense and multiple other local and national response stakeholders.
To tackle the fire rapidly, specialized forest firefighter brigades were pulled from nearby active operational units and deployed to the remote valley.
