Dominican athletes to represent at Guadeloupe 5K Championship

Following their triumphant performance at the Dominica Athletics Association (DAA) 5km road race in Portsmouth, athletes Curvin Leatham and Raedian Felix are gearing up to represent Dominica in the final of the Challenge du Conseil Départemental de la Guadeloupe. This certified 5km road race, which doubles as the official Guadeloupe Championships and a qualifying event, is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. in Pointe-à-Pitre. The duo will be accompanied by their coach and manager, Cedric Harris, who will also attend a coaching seminar on Saturday, September 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rémy Nainsouta Center. The seminar will delve into running disciplines such as middle-distance and trail, with translation services provided for international attendees. The Guadeloupean Athletics League has offered comprehensive logistical support to the Dominican delegation, including accommodation, meals, and transportation. The invitation was formally extended by Elodie Cairo, President of the Ligue Guadeloupéenne d’Athlétisme. Leatham and Felix secured their spots in the Guadeloupe event after clinching the top positions in last weekend’s DAA 5km race in Portsmouth.
