The Youth Parliamentary Association of Antigua and Barbuda has received critical financial support from the Halo Foundation, which has stepped in with a $4,000 donation to clear outstanding debt accumulated from the organization’s recent regional conference hosted on Antigua’s soil.
The donation came about after a scheduled gathering of youth parliament leaders from across the Caribbean subregion at Antigua and Barbuda’s Government House. During that visit, Halo Foundation president Lady Williams learned firsthand that the local host association was facing unexpected financial strain following the event, which left it with unpaid bills it could not cover immediately.
Following that conversation, Lady Williams formalized the foundation’s commitment to assist by presenting the full $4,000 cheque directly to Lutrell John, the local representative of the Youth Parliamentary Association. In public comments following the handover, Lady Williams reaffirmed the Halo Foundation’s long-standing mission to invest in Antigua and Barbuda’s younger generation, emphasizing that the organization prioritizes tangible, measurable action over empty promises to drive youth development across the country.
For the Youth Parliamentary Association, the timely intervention resolves a pressing financial hurdle that threatened to disrupt the group’s ongoing work engaging young people in civic and parliamentary process, allowing the organization to refocus on its core programming for emerging youth leaders.
