MBS Fitness Challenge Returns with Free Registration and Prizes

For local residents eager to challenge their physical fitness levels or reignite their passion for an active lifestyle, an exciting community health event is just around the corner. The Medical Benefits Scheme is preparing to host its much-anticipated yearly Run, Walk and Ride gathering on Saturday, November 21, 2026, opening registration to all members of the public.

Centered around the empowering theme “Move to Improve”, this year’s event does more than just encourage physical activity—it creates a space for holistic wellness engagement. Participants get to enjoy a picturesque journey along the route that ends at the iconic Fort James, making the workout feel like a leisure outing rather than a grueling challenge. Unlike competitive races that prioritize speed, this gathering is designed to be inclusive, encouraging participants to sign up alongside their loved ones, friends and colleagues to build shared healthy habits. To add an extra layer of excitement, a range of prizes will be awarded to participants, giving attendees extra motivation to join in.

To accommodate different fitness levels and preferences, organizers have designed two distinct route options. Those ready for a longer endurance challenge can start the full 13.7-mile journey from MBS Headquarters, kicking off the event at 3:30 a.m. For casual participants, families with children, or those who prefer a less intense workout, a shorter route is available, starting from Cedar Grove Primary School at 3:40 a.m. This tiered structure ensures that people of all ages and fitness capabilities can take part without feeling overwhelmed.

One of the most appealing aspects of the event is that it is completely free to register, removing any financial barrier for community members who want to join. Organizers will also provide complimentary water and refreshments along the route to keep participants hydrated and energized throughout their activity. The Medical Benefits Scheme’s annual event has become a beloved community tradition, combining public health advocacy with friendly community connection, and this year’s iteration is expected to draw the largest crowd yet.
