Sandals Grande Antigua, the Caribbean-based adults-only all-inclusive resort, is marking a key professional milestone for one of its longstanding team members: Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor Ariel Joseph has officially graduated from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Switzerland with a Diploma in Executive Hotel Management.
Joseph’s academic journey was made possible by a full scholarship awarded through Sandals Corporate University (SCU), the resort brand’s internal professional development initiative, in 2025. The opportunity allowed her to study at one of the world’s top-ranked hospitality management institutions, refining her leadership skills and deepening her expertise in hotel operations management.
In comments following her graduation, Joseph emphasized how transformative the experience has been for her career. “Winning the SCU scholarship opened a door I never could have stepped through on my own,” she said. “Completing this program at Les Roches is a career milestone I will always be proud of. I cannot thank Sandals enough for trusting in my potential and choosing to invest in my growth. This experience has sharpened my industry knowledge, broadened my professional perspective, and given me even more drive to pursue excellence in every part of my role here. I’m grateful for the support that allowed me to grow not just as a professional, but as a person, too.”
Carlene Spencer, Learning and Development Manager at Sandals Grande Antigua, framed Joseph’s achievement as proof of the brand’s core investment strategy: prioritizing the growth of its internal talent. “Sandals Corporate University is a living demonstration of our promise to put our people first,” Spencer explained. “We firmly believe that ongoing education and professional development are the building blocks for confident, capable leaders who will shape the future of the hospitality industry. Ariel’s success is the perfect example of what happens when raw talent is paired with meaningful opportunity, and the entire team at Sandals Grande Antigua is incredibly proud of what she has accomplished.”
Joseph’s graduation is not an isolated win for the resort—it is part of a longstanding company-wide commitment to nurturing internal leadership pipelines across all Sandals Resorts properties. Just recently, six other supervisors and managers from Sandals Grande Antigua completed SCU’s Diploma in Hospitality Leadership programme, developed in partnership with Florida International University, further strengthening the resort’s pool of trained, experienced leaders ready to take on senior roles.
