Police Hunt Grey-Hooded Suspect After Swetes Man Shot Dead on Verandah

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda – September 12, 2026 – The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda’s Office of Strategic Communications has confirmed authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Kerew Richards, a resident of St. Ann’s Road in Swetes Village.

The incident unfolded at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Friday, September 11, when officers from the All Saints Police Station were dispatched to the St. Ann’s Road area following multiple reports of loud explosions consistent with gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement found Richards unresponsive on the verandah of a local residence, suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds.

Witnesses reported that immediately after the shooting, an unidentified assailant dressed in a grey hoodie was spotted fleeing the area heading east. A medical examiner arrived at the scene and officially pronounced Richards dead shortly after midnight on Saturday, September 12.
