The match was hit by weather disruption from the outset. After Trinbago’s PowerPlay bowling unit got off to a dream start, reducing the Warriors to 22 for 2 off less than six overs with early dismissals of top-order stars Glenn Phillips and Shai Hope from Akeal Hosein and debutant seamer Lahiru Kumara, a heavy rain shower forced a lengthy delay. When play resumed, the match was trimmed to 16 overs per side — a change that would completely shift the momentum of the game, especially for Hetmyer, who was playing his 100th career CPL match.
