In a remarkable display of musical prowess, Republic Bank Exodus Steel Orchestra has clinched its second consecutive championship title at the Trinidad and Tobago National Panorama 2026 Large Conventional Band Finals. The victory, confirmed by organizing body PanTrinbago, solidifies the band’s dominant position in one of the world’s most prestigious steelpan competitions.
Antiguan Festivals Minister Daryll Matthew publicly celebrated arranger and drill master Khan Cordice, highlighting his exceptional contribution to this back-to-back triumph. “Khan continues to demonstrate an extraordinary level of musical excellence,” Minister Matthew stated, emphasizing that Cordice’s achievements serve as a powerful testament to the artistic talent emerging from Antigua and Barbuda.
The minister further noted the significance of excelling in what is widely regarded as the most competitive steelpan arena globally. “To be able to contribute at that level, within one of the most competitive and respected steel pan arenas in the world, is truly commendable,” Matthew added, praising Cordice’s unwavering dedication, discipline, and profound commitment to the art form.
PanTrinbago, the event’s organizing authority, extended congratulations to all participating ensembles for their role in preserving and advancing steelpan heritage. The organization emphasized that the Panorama competition continues to serve as a catalyst for community inspiration, youth empowerment, and celebration of Trinidad and Tobago’s national musical instrument.
The championship finals, held at Port of Spain’s iconic Queen’s Park Savannah on Saturday, witnessed Republic Bank Exodus’s triumphant performance that secured their repeat victory. Minister Matthew concluded his commendation with a patriotic note: “Well done, Khan. Antigua and Barbuda celebrates you,” underscoring national pride in Cordice’s international achievement.
