Belize City law enforcement authorities have launched an active manhunt for a black Chevrolet linked to a late-night shooting incident on Taylor’s Alley that claimed one life and left three men with non-life-threatening injuries over the weekend. The violent incident unfolded shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2026, according to official statements from Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith of the Belize District policing division. A group of four local men were gathered socializing on the residential alleyway when an unmarked black Chevrolet pulled up directly in front of their gathering. An unidentified occupant inside the vehicle opened fire on the group without warning before speeding away from the scene, ASP Smith confirmed to local press. First responders rushed the four victims to a nearby Belize City medical facility, where 31-year-old Charles Nolberto was pronounced dead a short time later from gunshot wounds. The three surviving injured men – 29-year-old Charles Middleton, 32-year-old Cesario Choco, and 43-year-old Clifford Olivera – are currently receiving treatment and have been listed in stable condition by hospital medical staff. Investigators have preliminarily tied the targeted shooting to long-simmering rivalries between competing street gangs operating in the Belize District. No arrests have been made as of press time, and patrol units across the city are actively searching for the suspect vehicle to trace the identities of the perpetrators. Police officials are urging any members of the public who witnessed the incident or have information about the location of the black Chevrolet to contact the Belize City police station anonymously to assist with the ongoing investigation.
