St. Vincent and the Grenadines Sends Police Officers to Antigua and Barbuda for CHOGM Security

A specialized team of trained law enforcement officers from the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has been formally dispatched to Antigua and Barbuda to bolster pre-event security arrangements ahead of the highly anticipated Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), set to run from November 1 to 4, 2026. The Vincentian officers will operate in close partnership with the Regional Security System (RSS), joining a coordinated cross-Caribbean operational framework designed to safeguard all delegates, visiting dignitaries, event staff, and registered attendees of the high-profile international diplomatic gathering. This cross-border deployment represents a tangible demonstration of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ longstanding dedication to collaborative regional governance, elevated professional standards for Caribbean law enforcement, and collective approaches to shared public safety priorities. Leadership of the RSVGPF noted that their force’s active participation in the security task force embodies the widely acknowledged principle of shared responsibility across Caribbean island nations to provide robust, reliable support for major regional and global events hosted within the Caribbean community. The police force further highlighted the ethos of pan-Caribbean solidarity underpinning the deployment, stating in an official release: “One region, one commitment, working together for a safer Caribbean.” Host nation Antigua and Barbuda is currently in the final phases of multi-agency preparations to welcome dozens of Commonwealth heads of government and other senior diplomatic representatives from across the 56-member Commonwealth bloc for the four-day summit.
