Antigua and Barbuda wins Nations Cup for seventh consecutive year

The Antigua Yacht Club officially confirmed a landmark sporting milestone this week, announcing that Antigua and Barbuda’s national sailing team has claimed the prestigious Nations Cup for an unprecedented seventh year running at the recently concluded Caribbean Dinghy Championship hosted in Sint Maarten. After days of tight, high-stakes competitive racing against top sailing talent from across the Caribbean region, the team locked in the cumulative points required to defend their title in dominant fashion, with club leadership emphasizing that every single team member’s consistent effort and collaborative spirit was the cornerstone of the record-breaking victory. The championship squad is currently making their return voyage aboard the chartered vessel Spirit of Juno, with a scheduled homecoming arrival set for midday Tuesday at Antigua Superyacht Marina. The Antigua Yacht Club extended formal gratitude to local maritime partner ONDECK Antigua, which provided the Spirit of Juno free of charge to transport the full team, their racing dinghies, and gear to and from the Sint Maarten competition site, as well as recognizing the professional crew of the vessel for their reliable support throughout the trip. All registered members of the Antigua Yacht Club, alongside local sailing enthusiasts, have been invited to gather at the marina on Tuesday to greet the returning champions and join a casual celebration honoring their historic streak of regional sporting success.
