Antigua and Barbuda nurses attend regional conference in St. Kitts and Nevis

Two distinct delegations comprising registered professional nurses and final-year student nurses from Antigua and Barbuda have traveled to St. Kitts and Nevis to take part in the 34th Biennial Meeting and Conference hosted by the Caribbean Nurses Organization (CNO). Running across nine days from October 23 to 31, the regional healthcare gathering also includes official representatives dispatched by Antigua and Barbuda’s flagship Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. An official public statement released by the medical centre confirmed that the conference launched with an interdenominational church service designed to foster cross-island fellowship, collaborative spirit, and collective unity among all attending nursing professionals. A key highlight of the scheduled agenda is the dedicated CNO Day, a commemorative observance created to honor the extraordinary dedication, unwavering resilience, profound compassion, and decades of transformative contributions that Caribbean nursing staff have made to public health systems across the region. Leadership at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre extended warm official well-wishes to all Antigua and Barbuda delegates ahead of the event, urging them to actively engage with panel sessions, absorb evidence-based best practices from regional peers, and cultivate long-term professional networks to strengthen local nursing capacity upon their return home.
