Mennonite Man Missing for Seven Days

A public appeal has been launched for information to locate a 23-year-old Mennonite man who has been missing for a full week in northern Belize. Abram Klassen, a resident of Little Belize in the Corozal District, was last reported missing by his older brother Franz Klassen, who is now reaching out to communities across the region for any clues that can help bring his sibling home safely.

In an interview with local outlet News 5, Franz shared key details about his brother’s situation ahead of his disappearance. Klassen works at a local shipyard located in the adjacent Orange Walk District, and he was en route to this workplace when he was last confirmed to be traveling before going missing. Franz also confirmed that Abram has been struggling with a substance addiction for some time, a detail that has added to the family’s growing concern over his well-being.

Based on what the family knows about Abram’s recent movements and routines, Franz believes his brother is likely still somewhere within Orange Walk District. This is not the first time Abram has gone missing, though Franz was not able to share critical additional details that could help search efforts: he could not confirm what clothing Abram was wearing when he was last spotted, nor did he have clear information about what other plans Abram may have had in the district beyond his work shift.

Local authorities and the Klassen family are asking any member of the public who has seen Abram Klassen, or has any information about his current location, to reach out directly to Franz Klassen at the contact number 609-1778 as soon as possible. Even small, seemingly insignificant tips could help resolve this case and reunite the missing man with his family.
