One of Antigua and Barbuda’s top competitive bodybuilders, Franklin Carbon, has delivered a standout performance at the 53rd edition of the Central American and Caribbean Fitness and Bodybuilding Championships, held in Guatemala, claiming three impressive podium finishes across multiple divisions.
Competing under the flag of his home nation, Carbon turned heads with consistent, high-calibre performances throughout the five-day tournament, which ran from August 27 to 31. He claimed the runner-up position in the Men’s Classic Physique category for competitors standing over 175 centimetres, earned a second silver medal in the Posing Arts discipline, and rounded out his successful run with a bronze medal in the Men’s Masters Bodybuilding division for athletes aged 50 and older.
Carbon’s strong run at the regional championships came on the heels of a major domestic win earlier in August, when he claimed the overall Senior Bodybuilding title at Antigua and Barbuda’s National Championships. That victory earned him a spot on the five-person national team selected to represent the country at the regional event in Guatemala.
Following Carbon’s multi-medal haul, the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Federation publicly praised his efforts, releasing a statement describing his performance as a “great showing” that made the nation proud. Carbon’s results complemented an already successful tournament for Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation: teammates Tiffany Gordon and Che’-Vaughn Ferris also made headlines at the event by securing their coveted IFBB Elite Pro Cards, marking another major milestone for the small nation’s bodybuilding program.
