It has been more than 14 months since the government of Grenada first tabled a landmark piece of legislation that would reshape adolescent access to sexual and reproductive health care in the small Caribbean nation. On July 17, 2025, the administration introduced the Age of Civil Legal Responsibility (Amendment) Bill, commonly shortened to the ACR Bill, which proposed lowering the minimum age for independent, confidential access to reproductive health services without parental consent from 18 to 16. The bill also included a provision that would allow access for minors as young as 12 in cases deemed to meet a “good cause” standard.
