Antigua and Barbuda has achieved unprecedented economic growth, with employment figures soaring to 47,000 and per-capita income surpassing $60,000, the highest among the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced. Speaking during the nation’s 44th Independence Anniversary celebrations, Browne highlighted that the country’s economy has nearly doubled over the past 11 years. This remarkable expansion has been driven by strategic investments in key sectors such as tourism, construction, services, agriculture, and digital enterprises. Browne emphasized that this economic progress has tangible benefits for citizens, including job creation, family security, and increased confidence in the future. He also noted that fiscal stability and strong investor confidence have solidified the nation’s economic achievements, making growth a collective national success.
