Saint Lucia’s men’s national football side, nicknamed the Piton Boyz, has bolstered its roster with six fresh call-ups as head coach Rajesh Latchoo sets his sights on a triumphant conclusion to the 2026 Concacaf Nations League campaign, with promotion to the tournament’s top tier and a coveted Gold Cup spot hanging in the balance. Sitting second in Group B on nine points, from three wins and one defeat so far, the Caribbean side knows maximum points from its two remaining away fixtures in Guadeloupe on November 13 and 17 will seal top spot, elevation to League A, and a berth at the regional flagship Gold Cup competition. The first of the two upcoming clashes pits the Piton Boyz against a Bermuda side yet to register a single group stage victory, before a high-stakes decider against Barbados at Stade Roger Zami in Gosier, where the two nations are separated by just one point in the standings. The highest-profile new recruit is Bolton Wanderers centre-back Chris Forino, who earns his call-up after making a full return from injury this week and landing a spot in the English Championship’s official Team of the Week. He is joined in the defensive ranks by former Ipswich Town defender Janoi Donacien, now plying his trade at Northampton Town. Alongside established starters including team captain Terell Thomas and Shrewsbury Town wing-back Arkell Jude-Boyd, the reinforced backline more than compensates for the recent injury setback that sidelined Montego Bay United’s Melvin Doxilly. The midfield unit has also received a major boost with the inclusion of Wales-based enforcer Bayan Aman from Trefelin FC, whose tenacious, ball-winning style will add much-needed steel to the central engine room alongside Morvant Caledonia’s Shaquan Nelson and Vieux Fort South’s Gregson President. In the attacking third, Lincoln City winger Reeco Hackett-Fairchild makes a long-awaited return to international duty after a two-year absence; his last cap for Saint Lucia came in a November 2024 fixture against Grenada, and his searing pace and natural left-footed balance on the flank will add a dangerous new dimension to Latchoo’s attacking options. He is set to link up seamlessly with a formidable forward line consisting of Colorado Rapids striker Donavan Phillip, Cavalry FC winger Caniggia Elva, and Kegan Caull, whose blistering 20-minute first-half hat-trick against Bermuda earlier in the competition kickstarted Saint Lucia’s charge up the group table. Two uncapped rising stars also feature among the new additions: 19-and-under standout striker Obafami Poyotte, who previously represented Vieux Fort South and now turns out for Antigua & Barbuda’s Grenades FC, is in line to earn his first senior cap, alongside fellow debut prospect Riquelme Lionel, a defender attached to Trinidad’s Defence Force. With a stacked, battle-tested squad now at his disposal for the crucial away double-header, Latchoo has every resource he needs to guide the Piton Boyz across the finish line and claim the historic promotion and Gold Cup qualification the team has targeted all campaign. The full 23-man travelling squad is as follows: Vino Barclett (Montego Bay United), Darren Donaie (Cavaliers SC), Devone St. Prix (La Clery FC), Terell Thomas (Slough Town FC), Chris Forino (Bolton Wanderers FC), Janoi Donacien (Northampton Town FC), Arkell-Jude Boyd (Shrewsbury Town FC), Kurt Frederick (Grenades FC), Doneal Lionel (La Clery FC), Ajani Louis (Morvant Caledonia), Bayan Aman (Trefelin FC), Shevon Byron (Mount Pleasant FA), Shaquan Nelson (Morvant Caledonia), Djal Augustin (Sks Warta Srem), Gregson President (Vieux Fort South FC), Riquelme Lionel (Defence Force FC), Mervin St. Romain (Defence Force FC), Obafami Poyotte (Grenades FC), Yanic Noel (Defence Force FC), Kegan Caull (Unattached), Caniggia Elva (Cavalry FC), Donavan Phillip (Colorado Rapids), Reeco Hackett-Fairchild (Lincoln City FC).
