A spate of violent incidents across Castries South, Saint Lucia, has left two confirmed homicide victims and two others recovering from gunshot wounds, according to official statements from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF). Law enforcement officials first launched an active response late Saturday night, after receiving public reports of a shooting disturbance in the New Belair neighborhood of Marigot. Patrol units deployed from the Marigot Police Station arrived on scene shortly after 11 p.m. local time, where they located two individuals suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. Emergency medical teams transported both wounded parties to the Owen King EU Hospital for urgent care, where medical staff later confirmed their conditions had stabilized. As part of standard follow-up investigative operations in the surrounding residential area at approximately 6:30 a.m. the following Sunday, responding officers made a grim discovery: the concealed body of 23-year-old Jessie Antoine, positioned underneath a local residential property in the Belair district. A certified on-scene medical professional formally declared Antoine deceased shortly after the find, with authorities later officially identifying him as the confirmed victim of a homicide. The violent episode marks the second recorded homicide in the Castries South constituency over a single 72-hour weekend window. Just two days prior, on Friday, 34-year-old Mervie Valcent was fatally shot in the La Croix Maingot community, marking the first of the two weekend killings. RSLPF leadership has stated that dedicated investigative teams are actively pursuing all available leads, witness statements, and forensic evidence to fully uncover the sequence of events, motives, and parties responsible for both violent incidents, with no arrests publicly announced as of the latest update.
