A wounding case proceeding in Barbados’ No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court has moved to its next phase after the accused entered a not guilty plea and secured conditional release ahead of the scheduled continuation of the trial.
Sixty-five-year-old David Randolph Sealy, a resident of 31 Paddocks, Paddock Road in St. Michael, stands accused of inflicting a wound on Ephraim Taylor during an incident that took place this past Monday. When the case was called before the court, acting Magistrate Shakieda Sealy formally oversaw the accused’s not guilty plea to the charge against him. Prosecutors did not raise any objections to a request for bail for the defendant, prompting the magistrate to grant his release on a $8,000 bail bond.
To move the case forward, acting Magistrate Sealy has ordered the complainant in the matter, Ephraim Taylor, to appear in court for the next hearing scheduled for October 15, which will be held on a Thursday at the same District ‘A’ courthouse. The upcoming session will allow for further procedural steps and presentation of evidence from both sides as the judicial process unfolds.
