A family in the Seine Bight region already grappling with the total loss of their home to a devastating fire less than 12 months ago now faces a fresh, terrifying crisis: 33-year-old Zebedee Castillo has been missing for four days, last spotted by a local motorist near Riversdale Village heading toward Santa Cruz Junction at around 9:48 p.m. Zebedee’s sister, Talesha Castillo, is sounding the alarm that her brother is without the critical daily medication he requires to manage his behavioral health, a situation that has amplified the whole family’s anxiety over his safety.
Talesha shared that after the fire destroyed the family home, Zebedee had been living rough, sleeping on a mattress in the yard where their house once stood. He visits her one-bedroom rental home daily to shower and eat, but she has not seen him since he left before his disappearance. Without his regular medication, Zebedee can become agitated and aggressive when his needs are not met, but when he takes his medication as prescribed he remains calm. Talesha explained that Zebedee has a history of being targeted for violence, having been assaulted multiple times in the past – including being stabbed, beaten, and struck in the head with a glass bottle – which leaves the family deeply fearful he could be hurt again while he is unmedicated and alone.
