On the night of September 14, 2026, a destructive fire tore through a residential property on T Street in Belize City, leaving Ashlyn Diaz and her entire family displaced and without shelter after all their personal possessions were consumed by the flames.
Diaz, who was inside the residence when the fire first ignited, managed to escape the burning structure, but by the time she reached safety and turned back, the entire house was already engulfed in raging fire. In her desperate attempt to get out, Diaz sustained a minor burn to one of her hands, and she was unable to retrieve any of her or her family’s belongings before the building became unreachable.
