Heavy Machinery Accident Claims Bulridge Worker’s Life

A tragic workplace accident has cut short the life of a 49-year-old worker in San Ignacio, leaving his loved ones in mourning and demanding clarity over the circumstances of his death. Mauricio Soriano, an employee of infrastructure firm Bulridge, lost his life last Thursday after a catastrophic equipment failure during a heavy machinery transport operation. Multiple accounts confirm Soriano spotted the unfolding danger and made a desperate attempt to flee, but he could not outrun the falling load that ultimately claimed his life.

According to preliminary accounts shared by the victim’s family, the incident unfolded when a chain securing heavy machinery to a transport truck suddenly snapped. As the unsecured load began to shift and tip, Soriano leaped from the truck’s cab through a window in a bid to escape harm. Tragically, the loose machinery fell directly on top of him immediately after he exited the vehicle, causing fatal injuries on impact.

Soriano’s family, based in San Ignacio, has been left to grieve while navigating a weeks-long wait for official information about the accident. Sylvia Lopez, a close relative of the deceased, spoke to local outlet News Five about the family’s urgent need for transparency.

“There are so many conflicting versions of what happened circulating right now, and we just need the full truth,” Lopez explained in a phone interview. “From what we’ve been told, he was on the truck when the chain holding the machinery broke. We need to confirm exactly how events unfolded. We haven’t received any official update from police yet, even though this happened last Thursday. All we want to know is when the postmortem will be carried out, so we can lay Mauricio to rest. My sister, Mauricio’s mother, has been hospitalized multiple times for severe panic attacks – she just wants this whole ordeal to be over, so we can begin to heal.”

Local media attempted to reach out to Bulridge, Soriano’s employer, to request a statement about the incident and its existing workplace safety protocols. As of the time this report was published, the company has not responded to multiple requests for comment.
