Police unable to identify man found at sea

Authorities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are turning to the public for urgent assistance after an unidentified male body was recovered from the coastal waters off Cane Garden. The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) confirmed that first responders pulled the body from the sea at 11:25 a.m. local time, following a report of suspicious activity in the area.

In an official public statement, police noted that the condition of the remains has complicated efforts to confirm the man’s identity through standard visual identification methods. Without immediate leads on who the individual may be, law enforcement has widened its search for information by asking community members to step forward with any relevant details.

Specifically, the RSVGPF is requesting that anyone who has a male relative that has been reported missing contact authorities at the local mortuary to aid in the identification process. Members of the public with any information, no matter how small it may seem, are encouraged to reach out to investigating officers via two dedicated phone lines: (784) 457-1211 or (784) 456-1810. Police have not released any additional details about the circumstances surrounding the discovery, nor have they indicated whether foul play is suspected at this early stage of the investigation.
