Schools’ table tennis gets underway

The 2025 Inter Secondary Schools Table Tennis Championships have officially commenced at the National Table Tennis Centre in Vide Bouteille, drawing nearly 100 athletes vying for 11 prestigious titles. The tournament has already showcased intense matches and remarkable talent from schools across the island. A total of 99 players, divided into four groups for both boys and girls, are competing for glory. In the boys’ category, Castries Comprehensive Secondary School and Sir Ira Simmons Secondary have advanced from Group 1, while St Mary’s College and Ciceron Secondary have progressed from Group 2. On the girls’ side, St Joseph’s Convent and Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School have secured their spots from Group 2. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals for team and doubles events, while four players per group will move on to the Round of 16 in singles. The tournament will crown champions in various categories, including boys’ and girls’ team events, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across Under-13, Under-15, and Under-19 age groups. Notable participating institutions include Saint Lucia Sports Academy, Ciceron Secondary, and Entrepot Secondary. Rising stars such as Manie Eleuthere, Khamari Harris, and Daniella Symphorien have already made their mark, electrifying the atmosphere at the Table Tennis Centre. Students, coaches, and supporters are rallying passionately behind their schools, making this a thrilling showcase of youth talent and national pride.
