High-level OAS delegation expected in Haiti

At a pivotal turning point for Haiti’s ongoing push to reclaim national stability and rebuild governance institutions, the Organization of American States (OAS) is preparing to deploy a high-profile cross-institutional delegation led by Secretary General Albert R. Ramdin, set to visit the Caribbean nation from August 16 to 19, 2026. This four-day mission, composed of senior representatives from more than 10 key regional and global bodies, is designed to turn international pledges of solidarity into tangible progress across five critical priorities: advancing the electoral timeline, strengthening state governance, expanding humanitarian aid, restoring public security, and laying the groundwork for long-term inclusive development.
