The circulating footage, which sparked widespread public concern over healthcare hygiene standards, shows the rodent traveling from a main hospital hallway into an open ward lined with patient beds, pausing to climb onto a medical weighing scale before retreating back down the corridor.
To date, the Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) has declined to release specific details about exactly which wing of the hospital the incident occurred in, nor has it confirmed the date the video was originally filmed. An initial internal investigation launched shortly after the video came to light has already pinpointed multiple potential access points that allowed the rodent to enter the building, with a number of these gaps tied to active construction work ongoing at the hospital.
According to PHA statements, crews have already begun sealing these vulnerable entry points rolling out broader corrective interventions to prevent similar incursions.
