Two 23-year-old residents of Christ Church have been ordered to remain in custody at Dodds Prison following their court appearance on a series of serious criminal charges, including robbery, illegal firearm possession, and ammunition offenses.
Tyrese Leroy Farrell, who resides at Ealing Park South, and Raequan Jacobi Jones, from Lot 4, Bournes Land, St Christopher, made their first appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick at the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court this week.
The pair faces joint charges connected to two separate robbery incidents that allegedly took place on August 9. They are also jointly accused of being in unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition, an offense that authorities say occurred on August 11.
Beyond the joint counts, Farrell is facing an additional 12 separate charges that span the Southern, Bridgetown, and Northern police divisions. This expanded list of allegations includes extra counts of robbery, more unlawful ammunition possession charges, escaping from official police custody, resisting arrest, and physically assaulting police officers who were carrying out their official duties.
For his part, Jones also faces one additional independent charge: assisting the offender (Farrell) evade authorities on August 11, according to court documents.
Following the brief hearing, Acting Chief Magistrate Frederick granted a remand order, sending both men to Dodds Prison to await their next court appearance. Their case has been scheduled to resume before the court on September 11, when more details of the allegations and upcoming legal proceedings are expected to be presented.
