Defending 1500m champion Kevongaye Fowler of Edwin Allen High cruised through qualification in 5:07.92, positioning herself for title retention. However, teammates suffered a stunning setback when defending Class 3 champion Aneka Lowe failed to advance despite a 5:12.11 effort, finishing outside qualification spots.
